What is this project?
The times we are currently living in are no doubt strange and at least a bit stressful for most of us as this devastating pandemic affects the entire world.
Through photos of our day to day life, I want to tell the story of this unique time and create something positive and interesting while bringing people together.
The ultimate goal is for this project, Connected in Isolation, is to have worldwide reach and to connect people all over the globe.
How can you help?
Feel free to be creative, but here are a few examples of what I’d like:
+ You at home
+ Whatever you are doing to keep occupied (cooking, exercising, playing, etc.)
+ Family members / flat or housemates together
+ Pet owners: Photos with your dogs, cats, lizards, birds, etc
+ Wine friends and colleagues: Photos of you with glasses or bottles of wine or . . .
+ Musicians: Photos with your instrument(s), making music, alone or together
+ Other artists: Photos that capture you creating your art
You get the idea – have fun, be as creative as you want. Send me any photo that reflects our current times. Use your phone or any camera – Just send pictures!
What will I do with the photos?
Honestly, I’m not completely sure. As I accumulate photos, I expect that the project may change. Initially, I hope to create montages of photos of people ‘sheltering at home’. As I create, I will share my work with you on this site.
Feel free to send as many photos as you want. Please share this with your friends and colleagues. As I mentioned above, I want to see how far I can reach with this project.
This project is just getting underway. If you have any suggestions or ideas of how to improve it or enhance it, I’d love to hear about it. Send it to me @ storyteller@thegarnetcollective.com
