Working

While we are sheltering-in-place or lockdown many of us have had to change the way we work. I’ve been impressed and humbled to see all of the innovative and forward-thinking ways different people have adapted. Many who were used to heading to the office on a daily basis (or travelling frequently) have had to learn to work at home. Some have even managed to find lovely outdoor spaces in which to do this.

Moms and Dads are having to help home-school, care for and entertain their children and juggle their own work.

In a wide range of professions people have found inventive ways to move their business online; interacting with their clients via Zoom or other video conferencing services. I’ve been inspired to see people teach dance, lead exercise classes and run wine tastings and even lead a religious service in this fashion.

Other businesses have switched from their usual business to help their community.

For others, work hasn’t changed much. They were already working from home – but now they can’t go spend a few hours in their favourite cafe for a change of scenery.

And let’s not forget all of the amazing people who are working in critical jobs who continue daily to go to work and make all of our lives better and safer.
